Description:

Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico, ca. 1960. A wonderfully colorful wooden "toy" representing the daring men who climb to the top of a platform atop a very high pole and then throw themselves off head first. If you have ever seen these guys do this, you wonder how they don't snap their legs off, or come crashing to the ground breaking their necks. Four fliers and another climbing figure in shades of red, yellow, green and blue. Size: 20" W x 32" H (50.8 cm x 81.3 cm)

Provenance: Ex - Himrod Family collection, Los Angeles, CA.
