Description:

Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son Culture, ca. 1000 BCE to 100 CE. A forged-bronze dagger featuring a petaloid blade with sharpened edges, a smooth midsection, and a hand guard with one petite curling terminal. The corseted handle widens gradually to form an openwork, baluster-form pommel that perhaps contained petite weights or perhaps nothing at all. Thick layers of green and blue-green patina have developed across its surfaces. Size: 8.9" L x 1.75" W (22.6 cm x 4.4 cm)
