Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Lambayeque Valley, Sican-Lambayeque culture, ca. 750 to 1375 CE. An impressive pair of annular earspools, each featuring a central silver nub surrounded by a gilt silver copper alloy ring with a tubular, copper silver alloy body. The rings surrounding the central circle are concave with raised peripheries and an embossed border of repeated circles. Opulent ear flares like these would have been worn for ceremonies rather than daily use and were likely buried with Sican nobility.
