Roman, Imperial Period, possibly from Roman Tunisia, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A collection of 3 wheel-thrown pottery vessels and a lid, utilitarian eating and food preparation vessels. The lid is probably not a matching piece to the largest vessel, however they demonstrate a common type of cooking pot that were use in Tunisia- the lid could be used as a plate to eat off after preparing food in the pot. Size: 2.3" L x 7.5" Diameter (5.8 cm x 19 cm)

Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969
