Rome and Western Asia, ca. 1st millennium BCE to 3rd century CE. A stunning necklace comprised of a rich assortment of marvered colored glass and millefiori mosaic fused glass beads, created via core form, 24 generally tubular in shape with nice variations to the contours, 10 disc shaped spacers surrounding the gold clasp, and a very large Western Asiatic agate stone faceted bead as the pendant, flanked by two 18 karat gold beads, all in an attractive, well-balanced symmetrical arrangement. Many of the glass beads show marvelous rainbow and even golden iridescence! Restrung in a graduated design with a modern 10 karat gold clasp. Size: 18" L (45.7 cm); pendant bead measures 1.5" L x .625" W (3.8 cm x 1.6 cm)

  • Condition: Agate bead had natural disruptions to the surface and some earth deposits. Nicks, tiny fissures, and small chips to some beads. Overall lovely and wearable.
