Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central America, Panama, Gran Cocle, ca. 600 to 1200 CE. A rare example of a three-sided pottery jar or bowl, each side adorned with a highly stylized anthropomorphic face brought forth with black and red pigment. The round-bottomed container features a red ground hue which lends to the entrancing presentation. Cocle vessels are usually 4-sided or spherical, so a triangular form is rather unusual. Size: 6.2" L x 6.2" W x 4.375" H (15.7 cm x 15.7 cm x 11.1 cm)
