Ancient Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 4th to 1st century BCE. A strand of hand-built glass beads, each displaying dark gray and black hues. The beads exhibit spiraling, carinated, melon, and cylindrical forms that dazzle the eye. Size (necklace): 15" L (38.1 cm); (largest bead): 0.75" L x 0.5" W (1.9 cm x 1.3 cm); (display stand): 5.25" W x 7.6" H (13.3 cm x 19.3 cm)
