Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Cypriot culture, Late Bronze Age, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A darling pottery askos in the form of a stylized zoomorph, perhaps a ram, with a prominent, loop handle rising from its back and a flared spout from its posterior. A tapered head impressed with rings intended as horns rises from the lengthy cylindrical body, while a pointed tail projects from the opposite end. Liberal remains of white-painted horizontal stripes adorn the vertically ribbed body. Size: 5.8" L x 2" W x 3.5" H (14.7 cm x 5.1 cm x 8.9 cm)
