Description:

Etruria, central Italy, Genucilia Group, ca. 600 to 400 BCE. A lovely set of wheel-thrown pottery plates, each with a low ringed foot, a slim pedestal neck, wide walls, a flattened rim, and a recessed basin. The basin of the smaller vessel contains a square with spiraled corners and a four-pointed star in the center with three dots in each of the interstices. The larger vessel has a deeper based with a stylized female face surrounded with a pentagonal form with spiraled corners. Size of largest (female face): 5.25" W x 2.1" H (13.3 cm x 5.3 cm).
