Bactria-Margiana (BMAC), modern day central Asia, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. This is a bronze axe head with a characteristic curved shape and narrow socket; based on the patina, it has a very high copper content. As ever, during this time, central Asia was a crossroads; people here were influenced by Iran in the west and the Indus Valley civilizations like Harappa in the east; however, they had their own distinctive bronze style. Size: 7.5" L x 2.25" W x 2.6" H (19 cm x 5.7 cm x 6.6 cm)
