Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 200 BCE - 200 CE. Jalisco shaft tomb figurine with characteristic elongated head, headdress or headband, prominent aquiline nose, coffee bean eyes, large ears, long and wide torso, short legs and exaggeratedly long, rope-like arms. Definitely male, but perhaps hermaphroditic given small protruding breasts. Sitting with hands placed upon upraised knees. All in bichrome red and cream finish. Measures 5 7/8" H. Provenance: Ex-Laguna Niguel, CA private collection, acquired prior to 1985.
