Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 200 BCE - 350 CE. A Nayarit mourning male pottery figure, San Sebastian Red type, sitting in a crouched position with crossed arms resting on upraised knees, emaciated and nude aside from armbands, headband, and ear ornaments. His long face with downcast visage and open mouth perhaps indicates that he is singing or chanting. Measures 7 1/4" H x 5" W x 4 3/4" D. Provenance: Ex-Laguna Niguel private collection, acquired prior to 1985.
