Description:

Rome, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. The quintessential free-blown glass form, this cranberry red glass flask presents a globe-like spherical body resting on a concave bottom and a tall tubular neck with a slightly flared and folded rim. The surface presents stunning silvery iridescence that possesses a virtually mirror-like reflective quality in some areas. What's more, the coloring of this example is like a variant of aubergine kissed with red to produce shades of crimson cranberry or lustrous ruby! This piece is absolutely breathtaking! Size: 3.5" in diameter x 6.25" H (8.9 cm x 15.9 cm)
