Description:

Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Lakota (Sioux) or Arapahoe, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine pair of beaded hide moccasins with nice signs of age and wear. The colorful seed beads are lane (lazy) stitched using approximately 8 to 9 glass seed beads on each stitch. The toe has dark blue bands that taper to at the tips which represents cloven bison tracks, a popular pattern on Plains tribes moccasins. Size: 10" L x 4" W x 3" H (25.4 cm x 10.2 cm x 7.6 cm)

  • Condition: Antique and worn condition with wear to the sole which is quite hard with some cracking. Missing a few threads of beadwork, but beadwork is largely intact. Velcro added to the soles for mounting / display.
