Description:

Native American, United States, central and southern Plains, Plains Indians, ca. early 20th century CE. A fine club with a slender handle formed from tightly stretched sinew strips that is stitched along the seam and accentuated with applied red pigment along the upper body. The crescent-shaped beater head is formed from a pair of conical horns from a juvenile bull. Nice patina has formed across both horns and handle. Size: 22" L x 9.4" W (55.9 cm x 23.9 cm)

  • Condition: Slight bending to overall form of handle, with minor abrasions to horns, and fading to red pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Light remains of pigment on upper handle, and nice patina throughout.
