Central Asia, Nepal, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful and finely-detailed wooden bowl carved from a lustrous brown hardwood, with a wide footed pedestal base, large and rounded body, angled shoulders, a shallow interior cavity, and a rolled rim. The exterior circumference displays a decorative program of linear, triangular, and spiral-shaped designs highlighted with hues of red and yellow on the brown surface. Size: 9.75" W (24.8 cm).
