Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A haunting white stone - probably onyx - cameo pendant of a face. Age has made the mouth and especially the eyes pronounced, while the other features fade into the background. The pendant is set in a modern 18 kt gold bezel setting with a textured edge and with a loop for suspension. Roman cameos were often worn in signet rings or on earrings and often depicted gods, emperors, or other famous figures. Size: 0.65" W x 1.1" H (1.7 cm x 2.8 cm)
