Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A charming hand-built pottery figure depicting a man holding his small canine companion in one arm. The man stands upon delineated legs with arched feet and wears a simple tasseled loincloth beneath a slender upper body. His right arm holds a small dog with perky ears and bulb-shaped eyes, and his left hand grasps a small dish. Circular eyes, a pointed nose, full lips, and drooping ears comprise the man's minimalistic visage, with a segmented hat capping the top of his head. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 2.375" W x 5.5" H (6 cm x 14 cm); 5.625" H (14.3 cm) on included custom stand.
