Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, San Sebastian, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built male pottery figure which stands upon a pair of arched feet. Wearing an ankle-length skirt with bold stripes painted in red slip, the figure holds his arms to his waist beneath rounded shoulders and a thick neck. A prominent conical nose adorned with a slender ring, broad ears, a curved chin, and absent eyes comprise the minimalist visage, and an arching head is capped with a simple red headband. Nice red details are applied atop a cream ground. A lovely example of shaft tomb pottery! Size: 3.55" W x 6" H (9 cm x 15.2 cm).
