Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Jemez Pueblo, ca. 1950s to 1980s CE. A collection of four handmade pottery vases, each painted with vibrant, non-traditional colors. Beginning in the 1930s, Jemez artists started using commercial paints, for market and sale items, and later even acrylic was used. These colorful pieces often appealed to children, but the colors are often fade or wear off. Size of largest: 4" W x 6" H (10.2 cm x 15.2 cm)
