Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Bali, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. An interesting stylized man with articulating arms that bend at the shoulders and elbows. He is dressed in brightly patterned clothing - a red turban and wavy lines on his robes like brocade or embroidery- perhaps a royal or aristcratic member of society. A wooden pedestal carved with a pair of feet supports the body, and this is not original to the figure, but custom made to fit. Size: 13" W x 36" H (33 cm x 91.4 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
