This bronze "Illuminated" Buddha, represented seated in virasana, cross-legged symbol of Serenity, with both hands in meditative dhyanamudra, wearing diaphanous cloak, the meditative face with a smiling expression, arched brows that meet the bridge of his aquiline nose, the concave ears, the hair tightly curled, and the ushnisha surmounted by a long flame. Beautiful patina on this piece in brown and green. 8-1/4"H x 4-1/2"W x 2-3/4"D. Provenance: Ex- Dr. Charles Smithen, Palm Beach, Fl, acquired before 1990.
