Southeast Asia, modern day Vietnam, Anamese (sometimes Annamese), ca. 15th to 17th century CE. A fine pottery jar of bulbous form adorned with blue on white decoration. Sitting upon a flared base, the vessel presents an ovoid body that tapers to a slender neck and lipped rim. The exterior is embellished with 3 horizontal registers of abstract geometric and phytomorphic motifs. Size: 8" Diameter x 14" H (20.3 cm x 35.6 cm)
