Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Beringian / Old Bering Sea Culture, Punuk & Thule to Inuit, ca. 200 BCE to 1800 CE. This collection includes 10 chiseled and carved tools and artifacts designed for various hunting and daily life tasks. The assemblage features awls, harpoon heads, and spear tips crafted from walrus ivory and bones of marine mammals - likely walrus, seal, or possibly ungulates such as caribou. The largest pieces include four elongated barbs, a spearhead with a slotted tip, and a thick tusk fragment. One side of the tusk is carved flat, while the opposite side is slightly rounded, tapering to a pointed tip. A fascinating glimpse into the ingenuity and craftsmanship of Arctic peoples over centuries! Size of largest: 8.8" L x 1" W (22.4 cm x 2.5 cm); smallest: 1.25" L x 0.5" W (3.2 cm x 1.3 cm)
