Description:

5000 years old! An interesting piece contemporary to the period of Troy I. A grayware lidded jar, from Western Anatolia, Yortan Culture, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE, with rounded body, three knob feet and two pierced lug handles for suspension. The entire piece is incised with vertical bands of geometric decoration. Upper section has two small holes which once allowed a small lid to be attached to this base. Very early and fine example! Size: 4" W x 3" H (10.2 cm x 7.6 cm)
