Pre-Columbian, northwest coast of Peru, Viru culture, ca. 200 BCE. A charming example of whimsical artistry from a little known culture - a ceramic stirrup vessel with a double body, connected by a bridge and a strap handle, featuring a very narrow, conical spout on one side and a delightful two-story house with two small human heads inside of it - one at each open side. The surface is painted with a deep orange and a creamy white. Size: 7.3" W x 7.05" H (18.5 cm x 17.9 cm)
