Description:

**Originally Listed At $600**

Western Asia, Anatolia (Turkey), ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. A delightful small jar, perhaps made for holding salt or other spices, made by shaping a piece of banded red and brown stone into a teardrop shape with its center drilled out to form a cavity. The rim is gently rounded, creating a smooth edge, while the evidence for the ancient drilling process is visible on the interior. The item has a pleasing weight and fits neatly in the palm of the hand. Size: 1.75" W x 1.65" H (4.4 cm x 4.2 cm)
