A hand-built pottery 'coast watcher' figure seated with outstretched legs, hands placed atop thighs, and an intimidating facial expression made all the more impressive with applied black bitumen-based pigment known as chapapote. Size: 3.2" L x 6.3" W x 10.625" H (8.1 cm x 16 cm x 27 cm)

  • Condition: Professional repair and restoration to each limb and areas of headdress, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to chapapote pigment, with chips in scattered areas, and light earthen deposits, otherwise in nice condition. Great figural form.
