Description:

**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE (blackware vessel) and Ica/Huari/Wari culture, ca. 400 to 600 CE (polychrome). The blackware vessel is in an interesting, avian form, with uplifted, wing-like handles and a round body given a segmented look by its mold. The foot flares out, as does the rim, giving this a pleasing aesthetic. The polychrome vessel is goblet form, with a slightly rounded base, a small neck, and a flared upper body; it is hollow throughout, into the foot. The decoration is dark red on the foot and geometric cream, red, black, and yellow at the top. Size of blackware: 6.8" W x 6.4" H (17.3 cm x 16.3 cm); size of polychrome: 4.55" W x 5.1" H (11.6 cm x 13 cm).
