Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a group of two small west Mexican shaft tomb figures from the Jalisco region. One is a standing woman with the characteristic long nose, elongated skull, and large headdress/headband. The other is some kind of canine-like animal that looks similar to a raccoon or coati, although with a short tail. Its face with pointed nose is particularly cute. Size of largest: 4-1/2" L x 3" W x 1-3/4" H (11 cm x 8 cm x 4 cm).

Provenance: Ex-private Hooper collection, CA, acquired via family descent.
