Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A set of 2 hand-carved stone celt figures of abstract form, each exhibiting finely mottled hues. The first figure is of squat form and holds both arms across the abdomen, one above the other, while the taller figure holds both hands nearly together in front of the belly. Size of largest (light green): 0.4" L x 1.4" W x 4.6" H (1 cm x 3.6 cm x 11.7 cm); (dark green): 0.6" L x 1.6" W x 2.625" H (1.5 cm x 4.1 cm x 6.7 cm)

Provenance: private Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA collection, acquired 1969 to 1970; ex-Dr. Jorge Lineas, San Jose, Costa Rica
