Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A set of 2 textile coca bag panels, each constructed using tightly-woven camelid wool fibers in dyed hues of red, cream, yellow-orange, dark green, and brown. Each textile is adorned with a central set of vertical stripes while the exterior areas feature columns of white spirals atop polychrome grounds. Size of largest: 12.5" L x 12.875" W (31.8 cm x 32.7 cm)
