Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque) culture, ca. 500 CE. A trio of miniature pottery objects, one a whistle, the other two vessels. All are painted with the yellow and blue-green pigment characteristic of this region's style. One vessel stands on tall tripod legs with a rounded handle; the other is a figural vessel with a monkey wearing a headdress. The whistle is a small, squat human figure with a huge rounded headdress and rich jewelry. Average size: 2.75" H (7 cm)
