Description:

Pre-Columbian, Bolivia/Chile, Tiwanaku (Tiahuanaco) or possibly Wari, ca. 400 to 1000 CE. A fine example of a fluted kero (quero, qero), with a round, conical mouth and a narrow, cylindrical leg. The exterior is painted with an abstract stepped motif set inside painted diamonds, all within a wide black border. Repeated T-shapes on top and bottom contribute to the geometrical style of the piece. Size: 5.25" W x 6.65" H (13.3 cm x 16.9 cm)
