Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 100 BCE; Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery vessels including 2 brown-hued vessels from Chupicuaro and a redware tripod vessel from Colima. The Chupicuaro bottle is incised with triangular linear patterns, perhaps representing mountains, and the remaining 2 vessels are unadorned save for their rich coloration. Size of largest (Chupicuaro jar): 4.9" L x 5" W x 5.25" H (12.4 cm x 12.7 cm x 13.3 cm)

  • Condition: Largest vessel with several stable fissures around rim; remaining 2 vessels are intact. Each with light abrasions and fading to pigment, with softening to some incised decorations on Chupicuaro bottle, otherwise all are in great condition. Nice coloration and presentation throughout.
