A group of three redware vessels, two featuring thick, rounded bodies, and one distinguished by a steeply carinated shoulder and stippled pattern. These vessels reflect the rich ceramic traditions of the Middle Niger Civilization, particularly the ancient city of Djenne-Djenno, a key center in trans-Saharan trade. Djenne-Djenno played a crucial role in facilitating the exchange of goods like gold, salt, and textiles. Its pottery traditions, dating as far back as 250 BCE, are renowned for their craftsmanship and cultural significance. Size pf largest: 4" Diameter x 5.5" H (10.2 cm x 14 cm)
