Southeast Asia, Central Thailand, Dvaravati and Ayutthaya periods, ca. 7th to 11th century CE and 16th to 17th century CE respectively. A wonderful ensemble of three Thai Buddha heads with serene facial expressions, closed almond-shaped meditative eyes, gracefully arched brows that merge into finely delineated noses, pursed full lips, and characteristically elongated ears. The Dvaravati style head boasts tightly curled hair nodes and a rounded ushnisha. The two Ayutthaya style heads both wear classic crowns with pointed flame finials. All with breathtaking green and coppery patinas and custom stands. Size: largest measures 3-3/8" (8.6 cm) high; 5-1/4" (13.3 cm) on stand

  • Condition: Head fragments, nevertheless strong representative examples. Nick to back of head of example with round ushnisha. Loss to tip of right ear of head with coppery patina. Nicely aged surfaces with beautiful green and coppery patinas.
