Africa, Mali, Dogon, ca. early 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden female figure of tall and slender form standing atop an integral circular plinth with delineated legs. Her arms are gently draped in front of her distended abdomen and conical breasts, and her oversized head is held high above her sloping shoulders via a slender, perhaps elongated neck. Coffee bean eyes, flared nostrils, full lips, and cupped ears comprise the serene countenance, all beneath a mounded coiffure. Size: 5.5" L x 4.25" W x 31.75" H (14 cm x 10.8 cm x 80.6 cm)
