Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona culture, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A lovely drug spoon, hand-carved from mottled vermilion-hued jasper with dark inclusions, used for the ritual preparation and ingestion of hallucinogenic drugs. The spoon is defined by its tapering conical handle, a drilled circular bowl, a tab-shaped handle, and a pair of drilled suspension holes on the shoulder. Size: 1.2" W x 6.5" H (3 cm x 16.5 cm); 7.4" H (18.8 cm) on included custom stand.
