Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Michoacan but showing strong Chupicuaro influence, ca. 500 BCE. Perhaps the finest and strangest "Pretty Lady" we have seen anywhere! Solid pottery standing female with unusual 4-eye style, large openwork ear flares, wonderfully elaborate headdress and wide necklace with circular pendant. She is covered in yellow slip with added red pigment around her necklace. Includes custom stand. Size: 4.5" H (11.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex-private P. Samson collection, acquired in the 1950's.
