Description:

Roman, Republic Period, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. A lovely strand of dozens of fine glass trade beads of various shapes. The beads are of tubular, spherical, and lozenge shapes and present cool tones of dark, nearly black to semi-translucent blues with a few green hues. The most striking beads are millefiori beads with swirling circular patterns of white, blue, and red. The millefiori technique uses multicolored glass rods cut into cross section to create their distinctive patterns. A fabulous selection of ancient beads that could be made wearable with a modern clasp! Size: 25.25" L (64.1 cm) largest bead: .4" W (1 cm)
