Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A free-blown glass oinochoe, or pitcher, presenting gorgeous light green hues. The globular body sits upon a flat base with ribs encircling the exterior from the bottom up to the midsection. A tall neck supports the lovely trefoil spout, and the trailed handle rises up from the shoulder to the rim. The green glass has developed a beautiful rainbow iridescence on the interior surfaces over the ages. Elegant in form and radiant, this oinochoe is a fine example of Roman glassware! Size: 2.7" W x 4" H (6.9 cm x 10.2 cm)

  • Condition: Chip to rim and losses to handle. Pontil mark on underside of base.
