Ancient Near East, Middle East, Syria to Northern Iraq, Proto-Literate Period, ca. 3500 to 3000 BCE. A fine carved stone stamp of half-spherical form with a vertical drill hole for suspension. The circular stamp face features 2 minimalistic quadrupeds facing opposite directions, the top facing right and the bottom facing left. Naturally adorned in mottled hues of grey, black, and tan, this seal is a remarkably well preserved example from ancient Near Eastern culture! Size: 1.125" W (2.9 cm); 2.75" H (7 cm) on included custom stand.
