Ancient Seas, North America, ca. 400 to 50 million years ago. A gorgeous and mesmerizing drop-form pendant formed with a sliced ammonite section. Each of the interior chambers have been hollowed out and adorned with 28 form-fitting turquoise inlays that bring a pop of bright, baby blue color to the ammonite's brown, tan, khaki, beige, burnt ochre, and caramel earth tone hues. The entire ammonite is displayed within a modern sterling silver setting with a hinged suspension loop above, and a modern necklace cord enables the wearability of this enticing accessory!   • Condition: Wearable as shown and constructed in modern times. Ammonite and turquoise are ancient; necklace cord and sterling silver components are modern. Minor abrasions to both faces of ammonite, with small areas of silver transfer on obverse face atop some turquoise inlays, and area of light roughness on center of verso, otherwise intact and very good. Nicely polished luster on obverse, and great natural ammonite coloration visible on verso with small area of rainbow iridescence as well.
