Western Europe, Spain, Neolithic period, ca. 3900 to 1700 BCE. A hand-knapped flint hand axe of a hefty form with a triangular blade, a wide shoulder, and an un-knapped handle that has a great gripping surface. The sharpened edges and pointed tip of the blade suggest this tool was used more for cutting, slicing, and skinning rather than chopping or as a battle weapon. Size: 3.125" L x 5.75" W (7.9 cm x 14.6 cm)
