Description:

Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 9th to 10th century CE. A lovely and unique pendant formed from a forged-iron arrowhead of the splayed variety. The weapon features a triangular body with a sharpened edge, a tapered body, and a fragmentary tang that is housed within a modern sterling silver cap setting. Mottled patina imbues the arrowhead with an attractive presentation. Size (arrowhead): 1.6" W x 2.2" H (4.1 cm x 5.6 cm); (cord): 22" L (55.9 cm); sterling silver quality: 92.5% or higher

  • Provenance: Provenance: ex-Sedona, Arizona, USA collection
  • Condition: Arrowhead is ancient; necklace cord and sterling silver components are modern. Arrowhead has minor nicks to blade edge, with light pitting and encrustations, and age-commensurate oxidation. Great patina throughout.
