An impressive Sasanian nicolo seal depicting a standing zebu bull with an inscription in Pahlavi, mounted in a Neoclassical gold ring with 2 inset diamonds. The muscular animal stands atop 4 legs facing left, a sizable hump protruding from its back as a pair of curved horns crowns the head. The inscription likely translates to "Reliance on the Gods." Size: 0.8" L x 0.6" W (2 cm x 1.5 cm); of ring: 1" Diameter (2.5 cm); US ring size: 6; gold quality: 65.5% (over 15 karats); weight: 5.4 grams
