Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Salinar culture, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A fascinating mold-made terracotta stirrup vessel with a lentoid body from which rises a peaked roofline with vertical supports - a single post with a concentric circle applique at the upper end on one side and a triangular stepped element with three openwork circles and a concentric circle applique above on the opposite side. Both sides of the roofline present with incised running "V" and "X" motifs, as well as an incised concentric circle at the apex. Above the house form is an ample stirrup handle with a tubular spout. Size: 6.5" in diameter x 11" H (16.5 cm x 27.9 cm)
