Description:

Roman, Britain, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A leaded-bronze artifact, once a brooch, adorned with red and blue enamel. The piece has a hexagonal base, a conical top inlaid with triangular panels of alternating red and blue enamel, and a small knob at the center. The bronze has developed a lovely patina over the ages. Thuugh not currently wearable, a professional jeweler could perhaps make this into a pendant or brooch! Size: 0.8" W x 0.7" H (2 cm x 1.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA acquired before 2000
