Romano-British, Imperial period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. Rare to find in this region and rare form! Bronze cast statuette of a helmeted Roman cavalry soldier riding upon a horse. He holds a small round shield in his left hand, leather straps across his shoulder and horse showing that it is galloping as shown by the right foreleg and left rear leg risen above the base. Size: 1.875" W x 2" H (4.8 cm x 5.1 cm); 2.875" H (7.3 cm) on included custom stand.

This item has been tested using XRF technology, is made of bronze (copper, tin, lead and iron) and guaranteed to be of the period.
